Jessica to model for Lee Jooyoung’s Collection at Seoul Fashion Week

Jessica will be standing on the stage as a runway model for the very first time today.

At 12pm KST on March 29th, Jessica will be the fashion model for Lee Jooyoung’s Collection at the 2011/12 F/W Seoul Fashion Week which will be held at the Seoul Trade and Exhibition Center (SETEC).

Jessica who has amazing fashion sense, garnered a lot of interests from many fashion designers. She will be doing her catwalks and showcasing her beauty and charm alongside professional models and actor, Jung Kyowoon.

Yoona & Seohyun at Daum CF Shooting

Girls’ Generation’s Yoona and Seohyun were spotted at the set of the Daum CF shooting. Pictures surfaced today with the two posing for the camera together with a number of children. Looking slightly tired, the girls still looked radiant in their bright outfits.

What is your remedy when you develop skin problems?

Sunny: I tend to have severe reactions to make-up, so while resting it’s fine but I develop problems while working. Nowadays I am using Dior’s D-NA White Reveal Night Creme and I think it works for me

Hyoyeon: Usually, not touching a problem area with your hands means it will recover, but I always end up touching it so it gets worse.

Which member has the most interest in cosmetics?

(Unanimous): Taeyeon unnie! She really has a lot of cosmetics products. She is really interested and likes applying them and is good at doing so.

Which member has the most interest in fashion?

Jessica: I have a keen interest in clothes. I like shopping, too. Tiffany, Sooyoung, and I talk a lot about fashion and we think alike.

Sooyoung: I like Isabel Marant and Alexander Wang the most. Although right now, I like Tsumori Chisato as well.

Tiffany: D&G’s current collection and Blumarine’s animal prints are pretty. I always read magazines and I always check fashion apps. Ahh, I want to go and see a collection!

Sooyoung: Me too! I really want to attend the New York Fashion Week. It opens next week, right? If I didn’t become a singer, I would probably be working in the fashion industry.

What would be your secret weapon in terms of beauty tips?

Sooyoung: I like oils. You can use it with bath salts, it’s enjoyable to just apply on skin and you can put apply it from head to toe. I sometimes use products from a brand Yoona models (Innisfree). I received a Burt’s Bees oil as a gift and I’m going to start using it.

Tiffany: I have eyes that don’t normally form double eyelids. But when I use eyelash curlers, they appear. That’s why I always have eyelash curlers.

Rain, SNSD among winners of 2011 Seoul Art & Culture Award

THE Korean entertainers considered to have advanced Korean art and culture in 11 categories last year gathered at the Olympic Gymnastics Stadium in southeastern Seoul to receive the 2011 Seoul Art & Culture Award on Monday.

Rain picked up the world star award, recognized for his cross-continental popularity as a singer and actor. Nine-member girl group Girls' Generation, a.k.a. SNSD, garnered the best Korean pop award for greatly boosting K-pop album sales through their second album "Oh!."

Jeon Do-yeon, the 2007 Cannes Film Festival best actress winner, received the best film actor/actress for her role in the 2010 film "The Housemaid," while actor Lee Beom-soo took the best TV drama actor award for his role in an SBS hit drama "Giant."

TV drama scriptwriter Kang Eun-kyeong was awarded the best drama writer for her 2010 work "Love, Bread and Dreams," while MBC producers Kim Jin-man and Kim Hyeon-cheol won the best TV documentary for "Tears of the Amazon."

Talent agency S.M. Entertainment's founder and chairman Lee Soo-man, who nurtured numerous popular K-pop artists such as BoA, TVXQ and Super Junior, won the best K-pop producer. Musical and TV drama actor Jung Sung-hwa topped the musical category for the 2010 musical "Hero."

The winners were selected by a committee of 20 cultural experts, chaired by Samhwa Networks CEO Shin Hyeon-taek, according to the event organizer Korean Association of Seoul Artistic & Culture, an organization under the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

Sponsored by government agencies including the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the award ceremony was accompanied by a series of cultural performances for the economically disadvantaged.

About 8,000 audience members included child breadwinners, the disabled, multi-cultural families and international travelers. Actress Lee Da-hae, who is fluent in English and Chinese, was the MC for the event.

The ceremony kicked off with a cross-over performance on a Korean folk song "Arirang," by Korean traditional percussion artist Kim Duk-soo, baritone Seo Jeong-hak and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra.

A group belly dance and a group dancesport followed and Girls' Generation wrapped up the performance.

The event was different from other cultural awards in that it was organized for the people who usually find it difficult to go to concerts and performing arts, the KASAC said.
